Western Oregon Industrial Hemp
The Problem
Brandon Scales, President of Oregon Biomass, LLC in Western Oregon, is a trusted source for reliable industrial hemp genetics, selling across the United States as well as farming his own land. He and his customers are looking for various ways to increase yield and resilience in their crops to supply the rapidly growing demand for high quality CBD oil and biomass.
Climate zone 7b, 8a & 8b: Warm-Summer Mediterranean Climate, Extremely Moist
Soil type: surface layer of clay loam, silty clay loam, or silt loam, and a subsoil of silty clay loam, silty clay, or clay
The Solution
A Geofield Systems Ag-Series Conditioner was installed central to the various farm plots growing Industrial Hemp, within a 5 square mile radius.
The Results
Scales harvested a 29% increase of dried biomass in 2019 compared to 2018 and is looking forward to what 2020 will bring. Year over year pictures taken of cloned genetics at the end of August showed the plants were healthier and bigger. Scales was extremely pleased with the progress in August but was even more thrilled that the trend maintained through harvest. Of interest he reduced his normal watering schedule as he observed the plants were thriving on less water.
